The person behind the practice

Built for the work behind public service.

Robinson Records & Accessibility is a small, owner-operated Iowa practice. The premise is simple: public documents and public websites deserve the same care that went into creating the record in the first place.

An uncommon combination

I've been on the other side of the counter.

I'm Brandon Robinson, based in Kellogg in Jasper County, Iowa. Before starting this practice, I spent years working in public service, including six years on a city council, serving as deputy clerk when needed, and being appointed city treasurer. I also worked for the State of Alaska.

That experience matters. A clerk's day is not an abstract workflow: there are agendas to publish, minutes to finalize, files to archive and residents who need answers. Accessibility needs to fit into that reality, not add confusion to it.

My background also includes detailed document work and verifying difficult source material. I bring the same attention to structure, language and evidence to contemporary accessibility projects.

Working principles

The standards behind the service.

01 /

Human review is nonnegotiable.

Automation can help, but every deliverable receives owner review before handoff.

02 /

Show the work.

Checks performed, limitations found and changes made should be legible to the client.

03 /

Respect small offices.

Use direct language, a manageable process and deliverables that are practical to retain.

In development

Better tools. Still accountable work.

Not a launched product

RecordsIA is developing AI-assisted workflows for document analysis, optical character recognition, speech recognition and remediation. These tools are intended to make routine steps more efficient while preserving human review and validation.

Initial client pilots are planned for 2027. This is research and development, not a publicly available software platform or a service promise.
